Technical Lead (London)
Key Duties / Responsibilities
- Lead the Needs Analysis phase of a project creating fully documented functional and technical specifications
- Converses with the technical project stake holders including the client’s team and third party vendors where appropriate.
- Responsible for conducting, leading and coordinating software development activities throughout the project, including enforcing Pixl8 technical production standards.
- Provide technical leadership for web development projects, including enterprise application projects.
- Coordinate technical aspects of projects and ensure all technical information has been provided to the production team prior to the commencement of the project.
- Support the production team as the technical project authority.
- Lead the technical / development team through project development phases: analysis, development, implementation and deployment providing technical advice and support to the development team during all phases of the project.
Support the Project Manager to:
- Plan and oversee the development and delivery of specific development projects
- Identify the resource requirement to ensure the most suitable team members are assigned
- Establish project goals and provide regular feedback to all project team members.
- To ensure the project is delivered on time and budget.
- Acts as a liaison for the technical team to the project leadership team and management.
- Act as a senior developer where required to support the project resources
- Attend project meetings and provide progress reports on the technical aspects of the project advising of any issues or concerns
- Communicate regularly with internal and external customers.
- Supervise staff.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
- Be familiar with systems concepts design and standards. Provide technical expertise in terms of system architecture, coding methods, functionality, performance, aesthetics, resilience, reuse and economic and technological tradeoffs.
- Help shape the ongoing technical standards for the business.
Minimum Qualifications
A good degree in Computer science or similar field.
Experience
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven technical leadership experience.
- Experience in staff management would be desirable.
Skills:
- Strong and diverse technical skills in Web development preferably ColdFusion but excellent .NET, JAVA or php skills are also relevant.
- Strong English reading and writing communication skills, with an ability to express and understand complex technical concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
- Ability to work in teams and has strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to deal with clients and will to travel to project sites.
