Job : Application Developer (Web)

In the position of Application Developer (Web) you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the COMPUTERLINKS Group Web Systems,

which includes the public web sites as well as the customer and vendor extranets and managed services platform.

You will be part of the Business Systems team, which is responsible for delivering state of the art Business Systems to the worldwide offices of the COMPUTERLINKS Group.

Although the role is based in the UK, you will be working closely with colleagues all over the world and make sure the team meets their expectations and the expectations of our customers and vendors. This might involve occasional international travel.

Your daily role will involve development, testing, development support, quality control and version control. You will also have the opportunity to acquire lots of new skills, specifically in the area of web security.

This role requires an enthusiastic and energetic self-starting individual who has good communication skills, and is a good team player with a hands-on approach and an eye for detail. Our ideal candidate is a web guru for whom CF holds no secrets but who is also able to understand our business reasons behind our developments.

Specific Objectives

§ To develop stable, feature rich and secure web systems
§
To translate long term objectives into shorter term key deliverables
§
To meet user expectations for these key deliverables from the development roadmap
§
To perform initial testing of newly developed functionality
§
To sign off version releases of the software
§
To suggest ERP developments which are required for the Web strategy

Skills/Experience Required

§ Advanced Adobe ColdFusion MX developer knowledge
§
Experience of MVC frameworks (specifically ColdBox)
§
Understanding of (D)HTML, XML, Ajax and JavaScript
§
Strong MS SQL Server 2000 and T-SQL skills
§
Basic Linux skills
§
Complete project cycle experience, from conception through development towards documentation and delivery
§
Hands-on approach

Desirable Knowledge

As the role has a strong dependency on the ERP system, any experience of mid-range ERP or CRM systems (e.g. Dynamics AX, NAV or CRM) would be a bonus, but not essential.

§ Experience of Adobe Flex

Understanding of any other web technologies and how to integrate with them

Knowledge and understanding of MySQL
§
Apache configuration skills and IT security
§
Web Security knowledge
§
Experience of quality control systems and version management
