Entries for month: September 2010

Meeting: Thursday 7th October 2010 - Say noSQL and relax on the CouchDB

TOPIC: noSQL

SYNOPSIS:
Are you tired of databases? Do you find them too limiting? is it LEFT OUTER or RIGHT Inner? Is it really that important to break apart our carefully constructed business objects into simple rows? There is another way! The noDB way! Store your objects as you conceived them in Apache's CouchDB.

The presentation will go through what CouchDB is, how to use it, and how it changes the way you think about your data model, and in fact, just relax.

SPEAKER: Mark Drew
Mark Drew has been programming CFML since 1996, and even though he has had forays into Perl, ASP and PHP he is still loving every line of code he has crafted with CFML, so much so that he decided to be part of the CFEclipse team and build an even better editor to write CFML with. Mark is also the CEO of Railo UK
