Job: ColdFusion Developer - Contract - Leeds UK

Large multinational company requires ColdFusion Contract Developers for initial 3 month contract, with a view to extend further.

Located in Leeds, UK (with the flexibility to work from home up to 40% of the time)

You'll be working within a growing core team of ColdFusion Developers based in Leeds with additional team members located across the globe. We work in an Agile development environment, on 4 weekly iterations to develop an internal financial application which is in the process of being rolled out worldwide.

  • ColdFusion 8+ (solid, commercial experience)
  • Oracle (or equivalent RDBMS)
  • Excellent knowledge of jQuery
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented (OOP) development principles
  • ColdBox experience preferable, some CF MVC essential
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. 
  • Source control: Subversion
  • Agile software development experience (we use Scrum)

Daily Rate:     £325

These are the skills and day to day tasks that will be expected of the Software Developer. Full training will be given as appropriate to the successful candidate.

  • Have a good understanding of the needs of web application development.
  • Have a good understanding of existing applications and how they are used in the business
  • Develop code that scales and performs for internal and external web applications
    • Develop new applications, and write code to support, extend, or tune existing applications
    • Write  ColdFusion, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL.
    • Produce clean and scalable relational database schema designs
    • XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript for display logic
    • Have an understanding of Apache and web server technology
    • Learn new technical skills as appropriate (especially ColdFusion)
  • Good knowledge of web accessibility requirements, and ensure code conforms to them
  • Follow the department’s methodologies (extreme programming and Scrum) and provide input on how they can be extended
  • Conduct code reviews with developers and junior developers
  • Work directly with internal customers and project owners
  • Provide out of hours support when required
